Center for Materials Crystallography includes strong competencies in synthesis, characterization, and theoretical modeling of materials. It is headed by professor, dr. scient. Bo Brummerstedt Iversen and has its home base at University of Aarhus.

The Center includes six international partners:

  • Prof. Dr. Dietmar Stalke (Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany)
  • Prof. Mark Spackman (University of Western Australia, Australia)
  • Dr. Carlo Gatti (Istituto di Scienze e Tecnologie Molecolari, Italy)
  • Research Director Masaki Takata (SPring8 Synchrotron Facility, Japan)
  • Exec. Director P. James Viccaro (University of Chicago Center for Advanced Radiation Sources, USA)
  • Group Leader Bryan Chakoumakos (Neutron Scattering Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA)

Each year, more than 100 papers are published in a number of different research areas: from energy materials such as batteries or hydrogen storage, to high pressure chemistry or magnetic materials.

The images below show some of the laboratory work we are doing.

Did you know...

... that more than 30 Ph.D. students are affiliated the danish part of CMC?

... that we address a number of different research areas from energy storage to theoretical studies on molecular structures?

... that one of our strongest skills is crystallography including in situ, high pressure, and charge density studies?
